Love One Another

Hanging out in the cool bliss of my favorite little sunroom this morning with my coffee and furry friends, while Cole snoozes. It always takes him a couple of weeks of summer break to break his school schedule inner clock (me too). I bought this little book of devotionals by @jenhatmaker while on vacation, perfect for those five free minutes mamas have in a day. “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.” John 13:34-35. A long time ago I used to say that my days in the counseling office often went with themes, such is the case with my life now. Everything I read echoes this theme and rule “Love One Another”. You think God is trying to get my attention?? Grab that mama who seems isolated and busy and see if she is ok; call that parent whose kiddos spend 6 Weeks per Summer with their other parent (I get so lonely for Cole after a day away, I cannot imagine six weeks, my heart breaks for those parents); hug that sweet widow you see at church every Sunday who sits alone; talk to that precious Humane Society worker who was a stay at home mama and is now trying to make a living (and such a hard job!!). So often we think we are so alone we forget to reach back and help others along who might also need us too. Life doesn’t have to be so lonely. Our garden is so happy this morning, and we are hoping for more rain today. Get out there with your people and enjoy the day 👦🏼👩🏼☕️🐶🐶🐶🐱🐱🐱🐹🐹
